For over 20 years we have been representing leading truck and transportation companies, making this one of the firm’s core practice areas. David Wilson’s background in the transportation industry (Auburn University - B. S. Transportation and 5 years of employment with Malone Freight Lines) before beginning the practice of law gives our firm unique qualifications with these types of cases.
The companies we represent range from large, self-insured motor transport carriers to smaller, local cartage companies, and every other type of motor carrier in between. Our primary expertise is defense of personal injury, death and property damage claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents involving commercial transport vehicles. However, we also have experience in prosecuting and defending cargo claims, which is a rather unique and separate type of claim from a typical truck accident.
Our firm has defended hundreds of trucking liability cases over the years. This unique experience has allowed us to develop the expertise and understanding of not only the operational side of the transportation industry but also the safety and regulatory issues that normally arise in every claim asserted against trucking companies. This, combined with our extensive trial experience in front of juries in both state and federal courts throughout the State of Alabama allows us to identify — usually very early on in the claim or case — the strengths and weaknesses of the case. Thus we are able to form a plan for acceptable resolution of the case (settlement) or a strategy to pursue for trial, as the client may dictate.
