Jud C. Stanford
Jud joined the firm as an associate in 2001, and after years of enduring the “Socratic Method”of legal training (e.g., trial by fire, being fed to the lions, etc.), he became a partner of the firm in 2008. He is a native of Jasper, Alabama and grew up working in the family business of writing bail bonds. Upon figuring out that it would be more profitable representing the individuals he was bonding out of jail, Jud enrolled in night law school. After passing the bar exam, Jud worked as a sole practitioner for three years and during that time handled a wide variety of matters including criminal defense law, small business representation and civil matters. In 2001, Jud has handled a wide variety of cases and participated in a number of trials, both jury and non-jury. His practice has been concentrated on defense of civil litigation, workers’ compensation defense, insurance coverage opinions and declaratory judgments, and advising businesses in a number of areas.
